Recent trips to KL/SGP

Long time no see

Wow, its about 3 months since i last posted.

2 reasons; the internet line is slow hence cud not be bothered and ya u can say i been busy. Well, main highlights past 3 months:-

1) me and my fren has shutdown our kopitiam in cheras, malaysia    2) our container business in indonesia becoming more difficult due to more competitors (mind me it was not easier this time)   3) for the first time after nearly 2 years here, I have a feeling of not staying here for longer term, altho I met more and more msian frens here.

Farewell to a fren

My fren Alvaro, he is Regional Director of one of the major shipping line in the world will go back to his home country Chile after over 6 years abroad, 2 yrs in Hkg and 4 years plus in KL.

 Altho, i do not know him so long, he appeared to be a very nice and caring person. So long my fren….

update on kopitiam

its now abt 11 days since we started business. first 5 days was slow esp for our chicken rice hence we decided to put in dim sum. wow immediately there was a spike in sales, guessed fast food sell easier today than full meals. so, i take it as more breakfast crowd in the area. and funny it seemed sales on sundays higher than weekdays despite it being commercial area….

plan to put in chinese nasi lemak to replace chicken rice…..

 today sales is very slow dont know why maybe due to long weekend ?

My kopitiam is opened

We successfully opened our kopitiam in Tmn Segar yesterday 10 Mar 2008. Thanks to the hard work from my bestfren/partner, wife and father in law.

First day biz was acceptable given our not so much product and new to people. Also thanks to some net frens Doc,Nick and CBLau who went by surprise and supported us.

 Feel that the area is for breakfast thru lunch biz. Afternoon more quiet. So we have to really beefed up our bfast and lunch product which currently we have only toast + eggs, lormai kai (for bfast) and chicken rice (lunch). We need fried rice and nasi lemak asap. Also need curry puffs or goreng pisang for tea time.

 And we need to have chapfan (not rented out yet !!) and to improve our chicken rice…..

Updates of kopitiam biz

Plan to open 10th Mar. Everything in order except we dont have a manager. My fren that suppose to help me decided to go UK for job there. Never expected that from him especially since he has committed earlier on. So big headache is starting. Stay put for more dramas…….
